About us We run a high quality lifestyle touring
rally for interesting people who enjoy
vintage and classic cars.
The event:
The 11th Tasmania Classic, seven days, around 1800 km.
There are no competitive or timed sections.
Each event typically includes activities such as
cruises and wineries. Application fees cover one car with two people on a twin share basis.

2010 dates:
Sunday 31st October to Saturday 6th November
Vehicle eligibility
Vintage and pre-1970 classic cars and, at the organiser's discretion,
other selected cars.
Bring your own notable vintage or classic car or hire one locally.
Vehicle acceptance shall be upon application and selection is at the sole discretion
of the event organisers.
New - Hire a classic
We can now arrange for you to hire a meticulously maintained classic from a private collection in Tasmania.
The cars include a Lancia Fulvia HF, a Bristol 400, a Sunbeam Alpine Harrington Le Mans,
a TVR Tuscan, two 356 Porsches, a speedster and a C coupe plus three older MGs, a TC, a TD and a TF.
Please contact us and we will put you in touch. All hire arrangements are made directly
with the car owner.
The course:
All tarmac roads, often on little used highways and country lanes,
but please allow for gravel drives and unexpected roadworks.
200 to 300km per day average. The Tasmania Classic
destinations for 2010 include Hobart, the Huon Valley, Lake Pedder and the
South West wilderness, the East Coast and Freycinet and the Tamar Valley.
Eligibility: No special licence or insurance requirements.
International participants
(Contact us for details - We can help to arrange a rental classic or sporting car
for you).
Navigation:
Interesting but not difficult; international tulip tally notes are used. You'll receive help
if you need it.
We discourage the use of GPS systems. Traditional penalty if caught - You buy a round of
drinks!
Cost:
The application fee covers one car with two people.
Early bird and discount club and group fees will apply.

Getting to Tasmania:
The Spirit of Tasmania overnight drive-on
car ferry from Melbourne to Devonport. We have booked an allocation of twin share cabins and car spaces
with discount fares for each event.
You must book directly with the Spirit groups office after downloading fare options and a
booking form from this website.

Organisation:
2010 is the 11th year for the Tasmania Classic. The event is organised by John and Caroline
Hamilton.
John Hamilton is a long established up-market Tasmanian tour
operator and regular London-Sydney Marathon and classic rally competitor. Caroline has extensive experience
in fine food and wine.
The event is run through the Hamilton's company Longford Racing Pty Ltd ACN 103 213 010.
