3 JUNE 2009
10th TASMANIA CLASSIC CONFIRMED FOR LATE OCTOBER

We have set the dates for the 2009 Tasmania Classic - Sunday 25th to Saturday 31st October.

3 JUNE 2009
SYDNEY-HOBART CLASSIC POSTPONED

In contrast to our Tasmania Classic, which is attracting a really good number of fine cars and interesting people, including a motor racing celebrity, our Sydney-Hobart event inquiry rate is slow.
As a result we are postponing the Sydney-Hobart our until the economy picks up.
Running the tour for a very small number is possible but not, we adjudge, desirable.

SOME CHANGES FOR 2009 - 23 December 2008
There are changes in the wind for 2009, and all for the better we believe.
In 2008 we added quite a few new activities which, while extremely well received, resulted in a price increase.
For 2009 we are cutting our cloth to suit and are offering top value with some optional add-ons.
So the Tasmania Classic will be a day shorter which includes a half day of optional activities plus a further two day add-on option to the far North West with a fantastic little cruise on the Arthur River that includes a rainforest barbecue.
The call for the Sydney-Hobart event is for a shorter trip so we are offering just six days from city to city with another add-on element around Hobart.
Details and pricing for these will be posted here in early January.
The dates - The Tasmania Classic will be in late October, the Sydney-Hobart event in mid November. Specific timing depends on room availability in all the hotels where we would like to stay and spots on the cruises and attractions.
In the meantime have a Happy Christmas and a wonderful New Year.

2008 TASMANIA CLASSIC A GREAT SUCCESS - 15 November 2008
October's 2008 Tasmania Classic was an around-Tasmania affair taking in the East Coast, the Tasman, Hobart, the Western Wilderness and the West Coast
The highlights, as judged by our illustrious participants, were the spectacular Tasman Island cruise and lunch at the new Taylors Restaurant overlooking Stewarts Bay on Tasman Peninsula.
It was great to have a number of returnees including Garry and Cheryl Drake in their TR6 (3 timers), Grahame Crockett, Alfa Montreal (another 3 timer, this time with his wife Dee) and Bernard and Madeline Corbett, BMW M3 coupe (2 timers!!).
They'll all be back for more next year, they tell us.
Once again we did the long leg from Hobart to Strahan in a day and the verdict was, a bit too long without power steeeeering.
A great solution is at hand however; in future we'll stay at the newly refurbished Tarraleah Village half way. We enjoyed a delightful lunch there and it was a great hit!
In essence the Tasmanian tourism industry is humming along well and we continuously have new places to stay and fun new things to to do.
More of these for 2009!
